Anna du Boisson trained at the Elmhurst Ballet School and Rambert Ballet School before going on to dance as a soloist for 15 years in major ballet companies. Since then, Anna has been teaching internationally for over 40 years. She was a former rehearsal director at Ballet Rambert and also trained the original boys for the musical Billy Elliot. Anna has also taught open classical ballet classes both at Pineapple and Danceworks for the past 40 years. These classes continue to be a hugely popular training for both professional and the keen amateur alike. Working alongside talented musicians is a very important aspect of Anna’s work. She is now the director of the West London School of Dance. This after-school program was founded in 1986 and currently trains over 200 students. The school is renowned for its high standards and its alumni are to be found in many West End theatres and companies worldwide.Together with her co-director, Kerry Williams, Anna formed the Young Dancers Academy in 2006 now known as London Vocational Ballet School. This full time vocational, academic school provides an outstanding education in all areas. Anna stepped down as Director in 2021 and became Honorary Patron. Established in 2003, The Du Boisson Dance Foundation was founded by Anna in order to provide the training and financial support she was given as a young dancer to others. Today, Anna remains as one of the Trustees and continues to help and support future generations with wonderful opportunities through her drive and inspiration. In 2026 Anna was awarded the OBE for Services to Dance.
