Esther  is a scholar, author, and educator whose work bridges English Language and Literature, Philosophy, and the Medical Humanities. She serves as a professor of Academic Writing and Literature with Immerse Education at the University of Oxford, where she teaches courses on dialogic pedagogy, feminist poetics, and resistance literature.

Her interdisciplinary research explores how narrative form, neurodivergence, and moral imagination shape empathy and ethical understanding across literary and medical contexts. She collaborates with the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom to develop reflective and narrative writing practices that support emotional resilience among clinicians.

Esther is the founder of Kentish Publishing Company, which supports creative and scholarly voices through accessible publishing. Her academic and creative work — featured across Oxford, Columbia University, and Trinity College Dublin — examines medicine as poetry and poetic reflection as a tool for understanding embodiment, care, and human vulnerability.

The author of fifteen books, including The Ethical CEO, The Emotional Healing Behind Words, and Beyond Japan, Esther’s current research engages with trauma-informed teaching, Black feminist poetics, and the ethical dimensions of reading and resistance in the twenty-first-century classroom.

Her connection to Japan deeply informs her aesthetic and scholarly approach, inspiring her reflections on silence, artistic discipline, and cultural empathy. Outside of her research and publishing work, Esther is passionate about ballet, travel, and the intersection of art and wellbeing. She brings to LVBS a love of storytelling, a global outlook, and a commitment to helping young artists cultivate imagination, discipline, and emotional intelligence through the performing arts.
